Here at the best hair salon in Nundah we like to think of ourselves as the best hairdressers in Australia, and we know a few of you who back that up for us! While we are creating amazing hair here in Brisbane, we are also looking to be inspired by all things hair and beauty from all over the world. With the rise of Instagram, the hottest looks from the runways, backstage, the red carpet and the streets have never been more accessible. For this month’s Helmet Muse we wanted to pay tribute to the best in the business – Pat McGrath. Literally the most renowned make-up artist on the planet, Pat has created more runway looks than we have had lattes. Well almost! We love her not only for her incredible make-up looks, but also the way she manages to harmonise hair and beauty on some of the industry’s most diverse and interesting models.

Here are a few of our faves;

LOOK 1: GOLDEN DREAM

We are obsessed with the rise and rise of gold illumination- both on the face and the hair. This look combines the two perfectly. Using Pat’s own make-up line she has created a stunning metallic look from the bronzed lids to the gold glossed lips and the shimmering illumination on the face. We also love the subtle nod to the 70’s with the Farrah Fawcett reminiscent flip and curl.

LOOK 2: ROSES AND PEARLS

There is something ethereal about this look, from the model’s peaches and cream complexion contrasting against her tumbling, dark glossy waves. The look is all about translucent skin whilst highlighting her beauty marks, and complementing her skin tone with a distinctive, yet soft, pink blush across eyes, lips and cheeks.

We love a little mid-week punk here at Helmet and this look is a moody and modern take which is stunning to look at. The intense exaggerated navy eye along with the bold burgundy lip breaks all the beauty rules, but that’s how Pat like to do it. The classically piecey punk fringe and mullet like ends are also punk personified – definitely not for the faint hearted!
